Shop Update and Thrifty Finds

Hi ! :) Just a quick post to show you what I made for the shop. :) I will have the smaller cupcake sets in a few days, I am up to my eyeballs in faux frosting ! lol !!

I just LOVE all things Porcelain and Vintage. I have stacks and stacks of pretties that I keep collecting, as each one is SO sweet and special. I like to think of all of the Happy Family Gatherings when I look at a pretty plate, envisioning a Thanksgiving meal, a Birthday, First home cooked meal for a new Beau. Does your mind wander and wonder about such things as you hold something old in your hands ? Or am I just a Kook :)I am always so nervous that one of these will get broken in shipping, but in 6 years, I have only broken one. It was ME that dropped a plate onto the floor as I was preparing to pack it. THAT was embarrassing to email the customer and 'Splain what a Weeble Wobble I am, lol !! But luckily, all have made it safely to their destinations. I probably shouldn't have mentioned this, as one will probably break now, lol !! Isn't that the way things work ? I will have to say an extra prayer over this batch :)

We made it out thrifting the other day. I found LOTS of pretties, but frankly, I have to de-stash first before I bring anything MORE into this house. :) I DID however convince Hubby that I NEEDED this chair ( Yes, I realize there are 8 more in the garage, and about ten scattered throughout the house :) ) He didn't hesitate though as he liked it too. And Bonus, it was only $3.99. :) It needs a good clean, fresh coat of paint and a new cushion. Hoping to do that this week. :) I have a Lamp and Chair fetish. Like some of you are about purses and shoes. Nope, give me a lone chair with a story, or a vintage lamp anyday.

One thing I did buy, was this yummy sheer organza fabric. This was also at a thrift store and there are 4-5 yards there. I need new kitchen curtains, so I may just make some from this. It is yummy for sure !! :)Well, that is what I am up to this week. It is nice to feel kinda good for a change. This last health fiasco lasted almost a month, so I will happily take any good days the Lord will give me :)

Tell me what you are up to this week :)

Hugs,

Rhea

I love those cupcake plates you made. Though now I'm kicking myself because at the thrift stores today I passed up the little clear dome that belonged to a cheese plate. It would have made a perfect little cupcake cover.

Yes, I dream about who used to own my vintage dishes and what meals were served on them. I think that's why I love vintage so much.

Hugs,
Joanne
