Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday !! Thank you to Sweet Beverly, Our Wonderful Hostess :)

This week I just have two pinks. I participated in Steph's, from Angelic Accents, Wedding Party yesterday, so that was my "big" post :) (scroll down if you want to see)

Pink number one is this small faux cake I made. I make two kinds of cakes, one that is a box, and these types that are like real cakes, and frosted all over.

The second one is going to be really hard to part with.................

Can you see why ? :)

Now, I need your help. This is not pink, But, I don't know what it is, can you tell me ? I believe it goes to a manicure set ( Vintage ) but I just cant figure it out. I know the old manicure sets had hookers ( Lol !! Not REAL hookers, but a button hook-er for old shoes :) ) But what is this ??? Hubby thinks it is a Nose Picker, but I am not so sure.................lol ! :)Anyhoo, That is all I have for Pink Saturday this week. I hope you go say Hi to Beverly and visit the other Pink participants, at her blog, How Sweet The Sound.

Hugs,

Rhea

Your cakes are beautifu!. Now this sounds gross, but I think that little instrument may be for squeezing out blackheads.

Hope you have a great and happy Pink Saturday!

I'm pretty sure that thing is to push back your cuticles. But the nose picker idea is pretty funny!
Your cakes are absolutely gorgeous! And I can see why you wouldn't want to part with that cake. Is that a vintage angel on top? It's definitely a keeper!
It's my first Pink Saturday, so I'm very happy to meet you!

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY MS RHEA,
HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS WEEK..
BEAUTIFUL...STUNNING CAKES. AWESOME JOB. YOU FOUND YOUR CRAFT.
MY HUSBAND BELIEVES YOUR ITEM MIGHT BE A SNUFFER...FOR DIPPING SNUFF INTO YOUR LOWER LIP...BACK IN THE DEPRESSION DAYS...NEITHER MY HUSBAND AND I WERE BORN THEN BUT HIS GRANDPA AND GRANDMA DIPPED SNUFF...A WOMAN WHO USED SNUFF WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BEEN THE ONE TO USE IT....I WAS SHOCKED AT THE WOMEN , THE AMOUNT OF WOMEN, WHO USED SNUFF BACK THEN.
WE DON'T KNOW THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE SHOWN BUT YOU COULD GOOGLE VINTAGE SNUFF DISPENSERS...I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD CALL THEM BUT MAYBE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIND OUT. LET US ALL KNOW WHAT YOU FIND OUT.
HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND
HUGS AND BLESSINGS

Happy Pink Saturday Ms Rhea sweetie...

Oh I so adore your cakes, and for me the nice thing about them. They are calorie free and being an insulin diabetic I am so limited to what sweets and how much I can have. You do beautiful work sweetie. I can smell them from here. I thank you for sharing them with me today.

Now that little tool, who knows? I am going with the nose pickin tool. Yep, that is what it must be. Now seriously, I can't wait to find out just what it really is.

I am having my blog anniversary giveaway. Please stop by and sign up.

Country hugs sweetie and much love, Sherry

I believe it is a device used to express blemishes. Place it with the hole over the blemish and press down. The contents of the blemish should 'pop' out of the center hole.

Is the bigger edge flat, could be a cuticle pusher...? Love tjhose cakes they are awesome!

Hi Rhea!! OK that tool used to be included in manicure sets. I know this because at the tender age of 17 I had visions of stepping off the stage and to be a stylist and do hair and nails and facials etc. I made it as far as becomming a licensed nail tech. Those we learned about in the first class about facials. My own esthetician uses them at times. They used to remove warts and other skin tags but as technology came about they obviously found a liquid remover was best. It was mainly used to remove pimples on the face...however scarring was obvious and the world of facials and pampering has moved to a tiny pin that punctures the top layer of a pore after a certain solution is added to cause the seabum to rise, thus the term "extraction" was derived and facials are the new age way to remove impurities.

OK long winded but there is the history of the tool I believe in the early days even Revlon manufactured them and included them in their manicure sets. Who knew!

LOVING your cakes...TOO beautiful. If you can't part with them then I can help you there. I would love one to keep and NOT PART with haha!

xoxo Molly

Hello Rhea, your cakes are the best ever, so very pretty and look real enough to eat. Makes my mouth water just thinking of it.
I believe you use the end to push back your cuticles. My mom used to have one and that is what she used it for. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

Gorgeous pink post. Such eye candy and no calories! I read all the comments regarding the thing-a-majigger and I have to agree with the last comment. Seems right to me!

Yes, It is a cuticle pusher. My grandfather has this exact one except it is silver and black. He bought it back in the early 50's in his manicure set!It is so weird because for years I would ask my granddad what that thing was and he would say I don't know but it came with my manicure set! Lovely cakes. I think you do magical work!

Love the dainty pink cakes! They're gorgeous! Don't know what that is - at first I thought it was similar to those old fashioned shoe buttoners!

Hi Rhea!

Your cakes are the sweetest ever! And I don't think I could part with ANY of them!!
I prefer to think of that gadget as a teeny tiny pixie melon baller :-)
Happy Pink Saturday on Monday!!

This sounds gross, but it is a blackhead extractor!
EEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!
You place the tool , cup side up with the hole over the blackhead and press into your skin. It works by applying even pressure around the circumference of the blackhead.
Now aren't you glad you asked?? LOL

PS The cakes are beautiful!
Sparkly Hugs,
Tobi and the Pixies!

Rhea...

I've read the comments left by others as to just "what" your little tool is....however all of them are wrong...LOL...it has NOTHING to do with cuticles or pimples or snuff or even wart removal! This little tool is nothing more than an "ear wax spoon"....one would insert it into the ear canal to remove a build up of wax...the hole in the bowl would allow the user to easily remove the wax from the spoon. Now that we have Q-Tips, wax spoons are no longer staple tools in manicure kits! Mystery solved!

Rhea, I wanna cake soooo bad! You must tell me more about size and pricing. I really REALLY need one sometime when you feel like bakin' one up for me. I have another couple of things I need, too....'

I always thought that implement was to push your softened cuticles back.

Love,
Stephanie

Rhea, your cakes are gorgeous.!

As for your mystery item, it is definately an Ear Wax collector. That is what people use to scoop the wax out of their ears before q tips were invented. I know as my father was a doctor and had a collection of these plus other medical instruments.!
