Day out with Hubby

Yesterday Sweet Hubby took me out to lunch and thrifting. I just Love spending time with him. He is truly my best friend in the whole world and there is no place I would rather be, than by his side. He is still working two FT jobs to support us. Poor guy sleeps about 4 hours a day, never EVER complains and dotes on me. I don't want it to seem like I have it better than anyone, because I believe we all have that potential in our marriages to be Best friends with our spouses. I had two failed marriages before this one, so I am very familar with the hurt and lonliness that you can have if you are not happy with the one you are with. Or the one you are with, wants to be somewhere else. I think what works for us is Pure and Simple Respect. I Respect him, and we Respect God and His role in Our marriage. I dont look at those things that maybe arent perfect, but those things that Are in Him, and he seems to have the same rose colored glasses on when it comes to me. That and I dont have any expectations. I did going into this, I had a list a mile long, but all of those things I thought I had to have diminished when I looked at what he DID bring to the table. Like Faithfulness, Quiet strength, Kindness, Respect and a Man after God's own heart. There is something very humbling to see a Large 6'5" man on his knees before God in prayer. A man that will stop first, grab my hand and pray before we continue, whatever it is that we are doing. It was That heart that I fell in love with. Not so much the good looks and charm. Although he has those in plenty. Those guys are a dime a dozen and have a new line for each day. But a Man that submits to Our Father in Heaven in All things, wow, that melted my bitter old heart. Ok, done being sappy. :)

Look what we found , a pretty Limoges plate that I made into another Pastry stand for Etsy.

And this neat pile of goodies. :)

Are these Cute or what ???? I also found this roll of great wallpaper in the background too. :)

Thought this would be cute for storage in my studio. :) I LOVE butter mints !!!! Although it was empty. :( I think I need a trip to Wallgreens for some Buttermints to fill it with, hee hee !! :)

This plate was a whopping $5, and Ed decided I needed it. :) As if a day with him and Lunch out weren't enough. :) Now, how sweet is that ??? This one is SO me too. Perfect Pink perfection.
We went to Marie Calanders and I had soup, Potato Cheese, YUMMY !!! ( Did you know that when you dont have a gallbladder, you REALLY shouldnt have Potato Cheese Soup ? Found that out the hard way, lol !! ) The waitress didnt charge us for my soup or my drink, so I asked her about that and she said, Enjoy, On Me, you are such a nice couple. Wow !! Does that ever happen ? We pretty much tipped her the balance, sweet lady. :) All in all a Lovely day. I LOVE Mondays !!! :) That is our day together, the only time when he isnt sleeping or working and I love every minute with him. It is truly all about Choices as my Mom would say. You can choose to love with your whole heart wide open, even after others have hurt it, or you can hang on to pride, or expectations, and keep some for yourself. I like the idea of Reckless abanden, all or nothing. And looking back I have never regretted loving anyone too much, only regretted loving people too little. Luckily the veiw with Ed is pretty much the same either way. He is a Really Good Guy. But I like feeling like I made the Choice to love him unconditionally. :)

Even so..............He had me at Hello. :)

Hugs,

Rhea

Awwww! My Ed and I are best friends too! He hates thrifting though. But we love shooting together. Pictures that is. DD is turning into an accomplished photographer as well.

Love the plate.

I have lost a good bit of weight since having my gb out 17 months ago. I cannot seem to handle a large amount of certain types of fatty foods. Olive Garden is out of the question. Even their 'lite fair' sends me over the edge. I never ate that much fat before. But I exercise a lot. I can only eat 2 slices of pizza and cannot eat it 2 days in a row. I have to wait a few weeks to have it again. I never eat fried foods, but that is not a sacrifice. :D

Have a good evening!

What an incredibly sweet post. You and your dh sound very blessed. God desires to bless all His children. Wrong choices we make can make it seem otherwise, but the fault in those cases is not God's. Every good and perfect gift comes from above!

I loved the pics and blessings you found (I call my garage sale and thrift shop bounty blessings, for I know they are). It sounds like you had a great day. :-)

Rhea, I came over from Connie's whom I ADORE!!
I know what you mean about your hubby being your best friend. Everything that's usually routine or mundane changes when I'm with my hubby. It becomes fun, exciting or humorous!
Everything is much more enjoyable....
My Parisian Give Away (valued at $200+) is now posted. You won't believe your eyes! It is my way of showing my heartfelt appreciation for all the support I was given in the infancy of my blog. I'm truly enjoying this blog journey, especially the new friends I'm getting to know through our visits.
*SWEET WISHES*!

Hi Miss Rhea!

Oh how it warms my heart to read your post! Praise the Lord for great hubbies, huh? I loved reading about your fun time together and about all of the wonderful qualities of your husband and your relationship together... How neat that the waitress was touched by you guys...funny, waitresses and clerks in stores almost always tell my hubby and I how awesome (and rare) it is to see a couple holding hands and being sweet and smoochy together...some waitresses have even had tears in their eyes when they said how they longed for the same thing... interesting how the Lord gives us ways to minister when we are just being ourselves in Him...

I'm so glad that you have such a great hard-working godly man after past heartaches - enjoy your love together with abandon!

Oh, and a fella who likes junkin' with you...well that's just the cherry on top!

Love your new goodies too!

Hugsa and Blessings!

Great Finds...I can imagine that your treasures will always remind you, of the special day, you spent with hubby. Thanks for sharing your bliss! I am so happy for you too!

My mom was a devout Catholic. Her patron saint was Saint Therese, who lets you know that prayers are answered by sending you messages with roses. Thanks for letting me see all of them - they are so beautiful - and yes, today we did get a BIG prayer answered! God is faithful! soapmommy

Hey Rhea, I'm playing catch-up tonight. I am SO in love with that wallpaper that I'm practically drooling. If I can ever convince myself that wallpaper really *will* stick to a ceiling, I'd love something embossed-and-white like this over my bed (hmmmm ... do you think dust would blow *up* from the ceiling fan and get trapped on the pretty ceiling?).

Love reading about your hubster, he's a gem. This week I decided to start participating in the My Husband Rocks gig on Fridays, and my guy made a great debut in the "I'll do anything for you" department ;-) You'll have to drop by to find out why, and don't skip my follow-up post in the comments section.

Great pinkies, girl, thanks for sharing.
