One half of the Pink Palace

This is actually a two part post . This is our Sweet n Shabby Bedroom. I Cleaned in here, ( Yippeee !! ) and decided to show you Our Pink Palace . I will post the other half of the room on Saturday for Pink Saturday's. I took SO many pictures I had to split this up some. So Here goes !!!!

The room is painted a very soft sagey green. Yum, I LOVE this color. It is so cool and refreshing to come in here. It gets SO hot living in the desert and this is our mini oasis. Plus they say green is a restful color , and I can attest to that !!!
The wreath on the wall is just filling the spot for now, till I can paint something for there. ( I actually bought that to use the roses on some art pieces. ) I am thinking an old chippy window with some of my hand painted roses on there. The drapes I bought for $6 at the thrift store. They are too dark for my taste, but they are lined with black out fabric to block the awful desert sun. This room has a western exposure, so in the summer months I have to keep the drapes pulled to block that out.

I bought these plaster lamps about seven years ago and painted them a dark walnut, added a heavy layer of crackle and some cream paint. Then rubbed a burnt umber glaze into the cracks and added the green trim. The shades I covered using a spray on adhesive, and added cream trim. At the time that I did these, the fuzzy ball trim was no where to be found and I had to look everywhere for it. I finally found a few yards of it in an old upholstery shop here in town. Now, you can get it anywhere. lol !! That seems to be the story of my life !! lol !! I get something in my head and want ONLY that one thing, spend forever looking for it, then a few years later the market is saturated with it. That little tray with the cupcake on it is one of the first Rose things I ever painted. :)
This little teaset I showed you all a while back. This is the room that it lives in. :) The plate is a different pattern and artist , but it matches beautifully. I don't know if you are noticing this or not, but I am a "Matchy, Matchy" kinda girl and I need balance and simplicity . :)

Our bedding is Laura Ashley "Rosemoor". I love this soft shabby green. I was SO happy when I found the tiny pillow on ebay with a rosemoor center !!
The battenburg tablecloths are all different. I am always finding them at the thrift stores for a few dollars and throwing them in my basket. You just cant beat crisp white linens !!!

Come back on Saturday to see the other side. I have all of the good stuff on that side. :) Also I am having an AWESOME giveaway that I will post more about on Saturday. It has some vintage wallpaper !!! Don't miss this one !! :)

And speaking of Giveaways, here are Two AWESOME ones. Shannon, is hosting a Huge giveaway with several Mega talented girls down under and are giving away lots of great artwork !!

And Edie Marie's Attic is also having a wonderful giveaway to celebrate her 100th post.
Hugs,

Rhea

Rhea, your bedroom is absolutely lovely. Very pretty and feminine with all the soft shades of greeen and pink. I feel like I could just move right in. I especially love the 3 pillows on your bed. It's very romantic and just ethereal looking with the Nevada light in there. I think the best photos come from Nv and Calif sellers/bloggers. That light is just incredible. Of course, you take great photos also, chickadee!!

I love when you have a new post :0)
You are a matchy-matchy simple gal....It suits you well.

I wish I was not such a clutter bug. I am still having fits with my room. It would be so great if I could invite all my favorite bog-gals over to help me declutter.

The tea set is beautiful! I can't wait to see the other half of your room.

I am participating in First Friday....I will e-mail you later:)

Your bedroom is so pretty! I can imagine getting lots of good rest in there. I could use some of those sun blocking drapes for our bedroom. It faces the east but it gets so hot in there on summer mornings. Looking forward to tomorrow's photos!

rhea your room is so pretty and how funny we have the same matching bed set and I also have those same pink drapes but not up for my room I need to get mine hemmed. Oh my great minds think alike my friend.

but I still think your room is so beautiful compared to mine. Lots of ideas for when I repainted mine. May I ask what color the walls are cause that is what I was looking for for my walls.
