Derby Hat Swap

A few months back I joined Bristol's Derby Hat Swap. I thought, wow I have a few months I can get this done in no time !!! Lol, Ya, OK.............. After weeks of stressing and thinking, what have I Done ?? I know Nothing, Nada, Zilch about hats. I don't wear them, I don't even wear my hair up in a ponytail. So, what was I thinking ????? lol Anyhow, after all the stress, and fear wore off, I finally had a vision of what I wanted for my sweet Partner Priscilla, And of course, changed my mind 50 more times. But went back to my original thought. I wanted something Elegant for her, as she is such a classy lady. And I wanted to do something very traditional, like would have been REALLY worn back in the 1940's. So, I painted this vintage hat white, and then I stitched on some vintage tulle, all the way around the brim, and gathered it. Soft silky white gathered fabric adorns the top, with a gathered bow. I then added two of the PRETTIEST soft aqua plumes, and a Huge rhinestone broach. This is very simple and I love it !! I hope Priscilla likes it and isn't disappointed.Of course I was late mailing it too !!! Please go check out all of the WONDERFUL hats that were made. I am in AWE of all of the talent out there. I have been sick all week again, with this chest pain thing. I am learning how to live with this and what to do when it starts to hurt, but it is taking time. However, I am So grateful that this is not worse. That and have had the internet people out here 7 times in the last three weeks. I cant keep a signal. So, if I haven't blogged and visited you lately, I do hope you understand, I love all of you, and want you to know, whenever I visit your blog, I stop and pray for you, for your families, your artwork and all of the things that touch your lives. It takes me a FULL day to go thru my list on the left there. But a Full day very well spent. I enjoy each and every friend that I have made online, and cherish each of you. :) By the way, This is the BEFORE picture, lol.
Hugs,

Rhea

Great job on the hat....It's soft but makes a statement. Especially with the "bit o' bling'...

Miss Rhea! You are SO incredibly creative! I called for my daughter to come look, Miss Rhea has the most gorgeous hat on her blog~ and the whole family came running! Smile! You see I'm having a Mother-Daughter Garden Tea here at my cottage later this month and we've been searching for the perfect hats to wear. We'll have to see what we can do since we aren't as lucky as Miss Pricilla.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. So sorry they haven't been able to find out what's causing all this discomfort. You are in our prayers.

Have a blessed week!
