Runnin' With Mom

My Mom called this morning and said " You want to go runnin' ? " Ok, We are a family that Doesn't exercise. Scares me just saying the word ! lol Runnin' means Thrifting, what else ? lol. So Of course I said yes, even though I have things basecoated needing roses , housecleaning, grocery shopping etc., etc. , etc. that is piling up. But, you know what ? Iv'e only got one sweet Mom.And if I can spend a whole day with her, then everything else can just wait. I almost ditched her though. Right after I got to her house she said " I am giving you Grandma's buttons " and handed me bags and bags of old buttons. I was a bit tempted to say, " Gee Mom, my tummy is hurting , I change my mind " And rush home and dump all those buttons in the middle of the table and spend a few hours going through them, oohing and aweing. I mean, after all, what could I possibly find at the thrift store to top all those buttons ?? But, we went anyways. lol. And I did get this old German nativity set. $5, I couldn't believe my luck !! $5.00 Wow !! Look at how sweetly it is painted !! I actually have a few more pieces that I had bought last year that will fit. Like the shepherd boy and a cow.

I was also lucky enough to find all of these vintage pink and white feather birds for $1 ! All, in all a good day for goodie stash, but even better spent with my Sweet Mom !!

Rhea! I got a giggle from this post! What a bunch of great old buttons, and how lucky too, to have your mom so close to "run" around with! ( And some great finds you got there... It's the thrill of the hunt that gets us treasure hunters ! I never get tired of it! )

Hello Miss Rhea! I collect nativities so this post definitely caught my eye. :)

Very pretty birds also!

It's wonderful that you took the time out of a busy schedule for your mother. I'm sure she felt like she was the lucky one today.
