Easter Basket Swap !!!!!

So, the other day I am looking at my Pile of recyclables and started thinking about Our Planet and wanting to do more for the environment. And I spied these :
And thought, How perfect for mini Easter Baskets !! Lets have a Swap !!! :)

Now, the baskets can be crocheted, paper crafted, fabric covered, any medium you choose, as long as there is a yogurt cup inside. :) Easy Peasy ??? The sign ups close next Friday Feb. 26th, and on Sunday, the 28th, I will send you the names of your partners. The baskets will need to be mailed, NO LATER THAN March 20th. Because this is such a short turn around ( 3 weeks ) , it is open to USA participants ONLY, due to the shipping time. Valentine's Day is LOVE

I shared the other day that I am on the receiving end of a LOT of love. I have no idea what I did to be SO blessed, but I TRULY am. It isn't the "Stuff" , it is the people behind the "Stuff" that Bless this heart. I cant tell you how each note and box has filled my heart to bursting. I think of Wayne and Garth, " I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy" Truly I am not. I did nothing but walk into the path of some very sweet Women.

First, Jen, My Hugs and Glitter Girl :) She sent me a Valentine's box filled with Vintage Valentines, See's Candy, one of her Vintage style bottle brush trees, sigh...:), This SWEET birdhouse bedecked with tons of glitter and vintage mercury glass, and finally this little poodle. This is the Week of the Poodle here at Miss Rhea's. :)Could you just pass out from it all ?? Well, I didn't pass out, but it did tear me up. I just am blown away at how kind my bloggy friends are. Truly. Thank you Sweet Jen !!!

I also won another swap last month. Can you believe it ? I haven't commented on any giveaways since as I seem to be a Giveaway Winner Hog. This one from Karla. Not only did I win this book, and sweet hankies, but also a gift certificate to this place. Wow, they have the MOST beautiful images to use in your artwork. I selected Easter images, as they were my Favorites. Hope to create something special with them. Thank you SO much Karla, you are one of the sweetest, funniest, and generous bloggers in Blogland !And, one of my BFF's. This is one of the Sweetest girls I have ever known. She has such a softness of heart that is SO evident in all that she is, and I cherish her dearly. Sweet Miss Karen. I know this will embarrass her, but her horn needs to be tooted ! There is a line in a song, by Ace of Base that goes " No one's gonna drag you up, to get into the light, where you belong..." But I will !!! Karen is such a wonderful Mom, Wife, Friend and Artist. She is SO humble and kind. She is always thinking of others. She is starting to grow her business and she sent me some YUMMY seam binding from her store . Isn't this gorgeous ?? This is the Real Deal old stock that she found in her hometown.
Also some of her hand made large velvet leaves. You know I am a sucker for Velvet !! These are great !! Nice and BIG. Cant wait to use these on something. :)

Well, Thank you my precious bloggy friends, Each of you that come week after week and leave the nicest most uplifting comments. You mean more to me than you know. And to Jen, Karla and Karen, I love you's , and Thank you !!!! :)

Hugs,

Rhea

Petite Inspiration Box Swap

Yesterday I shared the GORGEOUS boxes I received from my swap partners in the Petite Inspiration Box Swap hosted by Speckled Egg. And Today I thought you might like to see what I sent the girls. I tried to fill each one a little different to suit the ladies styles. :) Elyse got the Aqua box as her colors were Aqua and Pink ( Like someone else we know :) ) And Kathy and Cerri got matching pink and cream boxes, each filled with things I thought they might like. :) I used Vintage 1950's Irwin Baby dolls as my Muse. I know that Cupie has been associated with Valentines and thought these dollies would be sweet with their Cupie faces :) I also had to be true to myself and forgo RED , lol !! :)

Happy Pink Saturday !!! Thank you Sweet Beverly for making this such a special event each week. I know personally I have made SO many good friends through Pink Saturday and I am SO grateful for her continued kindness and diligence in Hosting this each week :)

Well, I found myself in bed all week again. This last Flare up is really knocking me down ! Almost had Hubby take me to the ER the other night, the Costo has been so bad, it is like a non stop heart attack that wont go away. I had been trying to finish up special orders, swaps, a few gifties and am struggling with it all, ever feel that way ? My mind says " Carpe Diem !! " ( Seize the day ! ) but my body says, Uhhhh, you forgot you needed ME to do all of that stuff, lol !!!!

I joined Heather at Speckled Egg's " Petite Inspiration Box Swap " last month and MY what Fun !! We each had three partners and were to embellish three large matchboxes in a Valentine style and fill them with vintage and new Valentine-ish goodies. I had mostly finished the girls boxes weeks ago, when I got sick again, so I was REALLY late mailing on my end. Once again , I find myself at the receiving end of a LOT of Spoilage ! These three women are SUCH sweethearts, each one is such an incredible Artist and Lady :) It was a true Honor to be matched with them. :) Here is what they each created and sent to me :) Lucky ME !!!! :) :) :)

Pink Saturday

I have random Pinks to share this week for Pink Saturday, Hosted by Miss Beverly of How Sweet the Sound.

I was ill all week, then felt better today so I went to my Mom's house as she is teaching me to oil paint ! Yippee !!! Today I just got a feel for the paint, next time I will try and concentrate on her instructions and not rush through to finish :) I am used to instant gratification with acrylics, so waiting WEEKS between layers is going to help me work on the Patience thing The Lord has been TRYING to teach me :) Hee hee !!

So, Ta Da !! Here is my first oil painting !! :)
I may go back and tweek it later, as now that the Turpentine High has worn off, I am thinking it is a bit simple and looks like it needs something.

Ok, on to the Pinkage. Pink vintage dolls that have been restored. The first is a 1950's 8" Pam Walker doll. These are more collectible if they are Ginny's or Muffy's, but Miss Pam is a sweetie pie too, Pedigree NOT needed in this household. :) I have about fifteen in different stages of restoration. To learn more about these dolls and other Hard Plastic Vintage dolls, this is a great link HERE.
Sweet Bridesmaid doll in Pink :)

Antique Pink mercury glass garland for my tree. I need to restring and mix these two strands together :)A few Pink Faux Cookie tags. I am always making odds and ends and including them in my packages when people buy things. These I made up for Valentine Sales :) ( Pardon the light, I took these at night, nothing beats daylight for pictures ! )

And lastly, look what came in the mail today ??? A Gift from a SWEET Girl in Idaho who KNOWS I positively DROOL over ANYthing that is painted by Sonie Ames !! Cant WAIT to frame these !!! Thank you sweet Chick !!!! :) :) :)
I need to take one of THESE to my Mom's house for Oil Paint class inspiration :)

Anyhoo. That is my pink this week. I have been SO busy in-between NAPS :) finishing up my giveaway box and two swaps I joined. Cant wait to show you :)

My Pink Saturday Special Blogger is Lorena , please go say Hi !! :)

Please link back to Miss Beverly and all of the other pink Posters !! :) Happy Saturday !!

Sweet Pastel Thrifty Finds

I haven't shown any thrifty finds in awhile. I always gravitate towards the sweet colors of spring. This week I have been cooped up in the house, we have had lots of Rain , Yay ! And have had a Costochondritis flare up in my chest, Yick ! That and the leg pain. Anyhoo, I love to look around and see all of the happy colors in our home. I tend to like pale sherbet colors for myself. Don't care for the dirty, grungy look, nor the Bright Easter egg colors, and especially not BEIGE !!! ( Yes, I realize that our living room is painted beige, and the sofa is beige, and, and, lol !! But I really don't care for it. Why you ask ?

Well, when I was a Faux finisher, Beige and Reds were the two most requested colors. From yellow, pink, and grey shades of beige ( tan, mocha, taupe, yada, yada, yoo ! ) and bright candy apple to dark burgundy reds. They are PRETTY, however working with those colors was quite stifling for me. Give me, Pinks and soft yellows, sunshine and Roses on a Spring day............
Lavender, soft violet, blush, colors of MY rainbow.........................

Sky blue, Robin's egg, Lily of The Valley, soft pink, soft peachy pink, chubby rosy cheeks..............................................

Can you smell the spring flowers ? :) I LOVE the bulbs, Tulips, Hyacinth, Daffodils, Iris, things that really don't grow here :(

Working on my Valentine tree. It needs MORE stuff on it. Just haven't decided what yet :) I found ten or twelve of these sweet pink and aqua vintage German angels. Are they not sweet ? :)

I found this little girl in an old box I was sorting through the other day. My Great Auntie made her for me. She is only 5" tall, her little head is about 3/4". She needs a new dress. Hers is icky and old. My Aunt also made her the necklace too. I have had her for about 38 years. Her tiny hands and one of her feet broke off and were lost years ago ( I Played with ALL of my dolls :) ) But her little face is still so precious, although needing a bath. I dont know if she was old to begin with, I really think she was, she sure looks it. Anyhoo, she is out of her box now, to treasure and enjoy ! :)

I am SLOWLY returning emails, and have mailed out half of the give away, but still have to finish that sweet box ! ( Bad me :( )

Anyhoo !! Hope that you have been Blessed this week :) :) :)

Hugs,

Rhea
