Pink Saturday and Where Bloggers Create Party

Happy Pink Saturday !! Thank you Beverly, you are the sweetest and most faithful Hostess ! :) Please go say Hi to her and the other Pink posters :)

Just a wee bit of pink on this old box. These were my Grandmothers pinking sheers :)

The Pink Westinghouse aluminum salt and pepper shakers were my Great Aunts, I just love them, and the pink measuring spoons I bought for my very first apartment twenty five years ago.
I bought these on eBay a few years back.................
To hold these.........................................

And my last bit of Pink are these roses I painted. I started this painting a few months ago, and finished it today :)
That is my Pink Saturday !!!! :)

Now, on the the Where Bloggers Create Party. Well, I was still too under the weather to finish the things I wanted to do for my craft room. ( YES, I say craft room, Not Studio, I picture a studio as an over-sized loft in a vintage downtown building, not my wee 8x10 room, hee hee :) )

I got this room last September when my Son moved out. He had been in and out, and this time, he seems to really want to be independent. So, after 6 months, we felt confident to paint it. It was this DARK, icky blue that he made me faux finish for him a few years ago.I cant tell you how DEPRESSING that color was for me. I feel SO weighted down around dark colors. I am a light and happy person, and love my surroundings to reflect that. Plus, Hubby drug home that big wood desk for me dumpster diving. EWE ! Anywhoo, even my poor dog just wanted to sleep when she came in here.
Finally, after much begging, Hubby put two coats of primer on it and two coats of my favorite pale cream paint on it for me :) Yippee !!!!That was in March, sadly I haven't done anything else to the room, but PACK IT with my Junk :) Well, I DID paint a few small shelves............And bought fabric for the chair I have now, drapes and a skirt to hide the computer under my desk. I chose these three prints. Two are vintage and the one on the left
I found at our local Upholstery fabric outlet. The desk has since been painted the same color as the walls and my other furniture, but I have yet to add the Jewelry. The things that make a room, a Home. :)

Thanks so much for visiting me today :) I hope soon I can finish my room and share it with you.

I hope you go say Hi to both Beverly and Karen, Our amazing, Creative, Awesome Hostess's !!! :)

Hugs,

Rhea

  9. Well, this just proves that you don't need a huge space to create the kind of magic that you do. All of your touches are lovely. I chuckled when I saw your pinking shears...I inheritied my Mom's...same box too, and her dressmaker's shears...she would flip if she knew I use them on paper!
Thank's for letting us poke around Rhea.

Sweet fabric and the room looks much more cheerful in the lighter color!

What a pretty craft room. I would be happy with that. I have my things here and there, no specific place, as I don't have a craft room. Have a great weekend, sweet friend.

  43. Hi Sweetie!
I always love my visits here! Thanks for sharing your wonderous pinks and craft room! It's a room that shows how I have always envisioned the amazing things that you create, coming from!

I now have a graduate! She's college bound in the fall, Lord willing and will be staying at home for now.

No job news still, we still are waiting upon the Lord as G scoured oodles of job adds, with very little response. We have grown so much spiritually, but still have days of wondering why! Its been such a challenge in so many ways, but I remain faithful to our Lord! We are living on 401K $ which I am so thankful we have saved for years..just not quite how either of us envisioned using it.

Stop by for a visit when you are feeling good..and we must talk soon, okay?

    Gentle hugs and much love!
    Lorena

  61. When I saw a pix of your painted shelves it reminded me of my last craft space. I painted each wall a different color, using pink, green, blue and a yellow. All in the same color scheme you used on your shelves. When It was done it was darling! Thanks for the memory! And thank you for sharing your craft ROOM with us.
