Be Jeweled

Ok, I know you are having a Sweet n Shabby Overload today. Three posts !! Wow !! From the shy girl who lurks in the background most of the time. :)

I thought you might like to see what I have been working on the last few months. I have been so bed-ridden, and happily found something I could do while laying down resting . I have always wanted to paint my own pendents, so Ta- Da ! here they are. :) I painted tiny little's a few years ago ( see here ) and wow, time flew and I am just picking that back up now.

I am still learning this whole jewelry thing, so they aren't great. It is hard to know what to put where. I don't think I have that natural ability for effortless jewelry making like some do. I cant do vintage grunge. ( Please, if you are a jewelry maker, please DON'T think I am saying you are dirty !!! ) I LOVE that look of old, used and loved on, but I have an A type of personality, and just letting things not MATCH is testing me enough, lol !! :) I have scrubbed and cleaned all of these old gems :) (Plus for me there is the whole Germ thing being ill )

Wow Rhea, really stick your foot in it !!

Lol !!!

Anyhooo..... If I haven't insulted anyone ( I hope not ! ) I will continue...I love the sparkly-sparkles and soft pearly hues. I was TRYING to say, that I like shiny NEW silver, mixed with a bit of old. I wont be making very many of these. Just here and there as I am forced to "Be still " :) So here goes, please be honest and let me know if they are gaudy, stupid, or passable. It is always a bit scary to create something new. This little bracelet I painted violets onto a Mother of Pearl disc. I used lilac and white glass pearls.

I was inspired by the extra large rhinestone earring on this necklace. And was going to make it into a bracelet after painting a rose on the cabochon, but as I pulled different jewels and beads out of my stash, it became a necklace. I love the pink Cats Eyes with the Pearls :)

This one I LOVE, and was the first one I made. Sweet Forget-me-Nots on a Mother of Pearl pendant, and Soft blue and white glass pearls. I had to add a bit of vintage sparkle :)

And this one :) I used vintage cream pearls and aqua. Love ! :) I have so many Yummy greenish aqua and Blueish Aqua beads that I had to add a bit of each. I love it with the creamy pearls :) So, here is the last one. I have made the chain, just need to paint the pendant. Peachy pink and cream. This one has all kinds of vintage goodness. The pink beaded chain, pearls and Swarovski crystals too :) This is the only goldish one I made. Ok, Now I have a question. I really don't WEAR jewelry hardly EVER. Yes, how silly is that ? And when I do wear necklaces, I like them really long. I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl. Taking me hiking any day over a mall. :) So what Length/s do you all wear the most ? I have added chain to all of them, and can size them accordingly, but I am curious, and curiouser, what the best sizes are and why :)

Hugs :)

Rhea

I think they are all pretyy but I am a pearls kinda girl. (and diamonds, and...well I like it ALL! LOL) Depending on what I'm wearing and my mood determines the length of chain I wear but I do wear both long and short necklaces. Not very helpful huh? Sorry to hear you have not been well but the beautiful things you are creating while on bedrest says alot about you...I'm sure some would just give up & lay there, doing nothing. May God continue to bless you and heal you.

G'morn Rhea ~ WOWZERS! These are FABULOUS creations. I'd love the bracelet if it were pink & roses painted on it. I don't do a lot of jewelry but these pieces are 2D4 & you should do well selling them.

I envy anyone who can create ... my best creation is writing checks. Chuckle.

I hope that you are feeling better, Rhea. Prayers lifting for you as I write.

Have a beautiful week ~

Rhea,
You have made some of the most beautiful necklaces & bracelets I have ever seen. I love the hand painted elements that make them stand out for me as one of a kind. Simply wonderful. I would say on length, that I like my necklaces to hang just above my cleavage, so that if I am wearing a cami, it doesn't get lost beneath the lace; about 20". If you made it to extend, I would say 18" to 20" for versatility. It is either that or much longer; 26" to 28". I'm not much on choker styles but these would look beautiful at that length also. Does that give you several options or what!! LOL!
Blessings,
Cindy

Hi dear Rhea!

Oh these are just beautiful! Wow, I can't believe how intricate these little flowers are. So glad you found something creative to do while resting. That is wonderful!
I think 24" length would be nice.
Be well sweetie!

Hi Sweet Rhea! Great to hear from you ~ I've been so confused on who was sick. So sorry for your mother's health problems, and of course I will be praying for a very successful surgery outcome for her and for you also. Please take care of yourself so you can help take care of her.

Your jewelry items are superb! I'm sooo loving the one with both the pink/blue on it and with your signature rose and the pink cat's eye beads. All are yummy!! I like longer lengths of necklaces @24" seems good for me!

Big Hugs,
Stephanie
